Abstract
Epidural anesthesia is routinely performed at obstetric area and dural puncture is not rare complication. Total spinal anesthesia following accidental intrathecal spread of local anesthetics is life-threatening complication but has good prognosis if rapid and appropriate management are performed. Ventilation, arterial blood pressure and heart rate should be supported. Careful aspiration, use of a test dose, and incremental injection technique can help to avoid this complication. We report two cases of total spinal anesthesia following accidental dural puncture.
